  1. Upgrading to Version 2.2 of Thesaur Plus:
  2.   1)  Upgrading from 2.1
  3.          Do not overwrite the .CFG file, but you need to reconfigure
  4.          your HotKey.   CONFIG HOTKEY
  5.  
  6.   2)  Using 2.0 or earlier
  7.          Replace every file except THESPLUS.MOD (if it exists)
  8.          Do not leave any of the old version .EXE's, .DAT, .NDX.
  9.          if you have the file THESPLUS.MOD you need to run ADDMOD.EXE
  10.          after everything is installed to add your personal changes to the
  11.          new data format.
  12.  
  13. Note to registered users:
  14.     Your registration password still works.  Use the same commands
  15.     as you did when I mailed you your disk and instructions.  In the future
  16.     if you don't overwrite your .CFG file you will not even have to do
  17.     this to upgrade.  If you forgot your registration number/password, please
  18.     send a SASE, and I'll give it to you again (No problem!).

  28.                       This is a tremendous reduction from version 2.1
  29.                       which required 69k.
  30.  
  31.                     Thesaur Plus has been redesigned in the way it
  32.                     handles it's data.  A new file THESPLUS.SRT is
  33.                     now used, and allows much greater flexibility in
  34.                     the data file in adding new words.  in version 2.1 and
  35.                     below when you added a synonym it was recorded only under
  36.                     a main entry.  If you tried to search for it, it
  37.                     would not be found.  Version 2.2 removes this problem
  38.                     and allows any word you add to be found by the thesaurus
  39.                     as a main entry, and can be treated like any of the
  40.                     original words.  This feature was requested so often I HAD
  41.                     to discover a way to implement it. This is the only
  42.                     thesaurus available that has this feature! 
  43.                     
  44.                       There are two ways to add words in Thesaur.  The 
  45.                       first is to add a synonym to an already existing 
  46.                       word.  The second is to add a whole new word - The 
  47.                       difference between the two is that when you add a 
  48.                       synonym it is added to the database and also 
  49.                       hooked to the current word.  When you add a new 
  50.                       word it is just added to the database with no 
  51.                       synonyms yet.

  53.                     Both Thesaur and Thesaur Plus will be a little slower than
  54.                     before in finding words (more noticeable in Thesaur) but
  55.                     this was a neccessary evil to receive the new flexibility.

  57.                     Thesaur now also accepts a word on the command line.

  68.                     New Program - ADDMOD.EXE
  69.                          If you have previously added words to Thesaur Plus,
  70.                     then you have the file THESPLUS.MOD with your changes.
  71.                     The new data file format means you must lose all of your
  72.                     changes to take advantage of the new format - Not to worry!
  73.                     just run ADDMOD.EXE with the files THESPLUS.MOD,
  74.                     THESPLUS.DAT, THESPLUS.NDX, and THESPLUS.SRT in the default 
  75.                     directory, and within minutes you will have all of your
  76.                     changes/addtions incorporated in the new version!

  78.                          This is why it is a good idea to always keep the
  79.                     thesplus.mod file available!
  80.                     
  81.                          Registrations of Thesaur Plus are somewhat
  82.                     slow.  Please register Thesaur Plus.

  85.                  Thesaur Plus v2.1   Update Release
  86.                     Fix of Several minor bugs mostly located in
  87.                     the ADD synonyms section of Thesaur, and in 
  88.                     handling of the .MOD file.

  90.                     All files now use THESPLUS.CFG for color, hotkey
  91.                     and registration information.  This information
  92.                     used to be included in THESPLUS.EXE but has been
  93.                     moved to the .CFG file now.  Nothing is changed from 
  94.                     the way the program works, nor is there added 
  95.                     commands to use it.  The THESPLUS.CFG file MUST be 
  96.                     in the same directory as the THESPLUS.EXE file.

  186.   - Still only $20......  and now covers both Thesaur Plus AND Thesaur 
  187.        With 2.x I hope that you are satisfied (for awhile) - if you are
  188.        a registered user, this is what your support has made possible,
  189.        if you are still considering registering, or this is your first
  190.        exposure to Thesaur Plus - Enjoy the current version, and
  191.        hopefully you will help support future advancements in Thesaur 
  192.        Plus because I *DO* support it myself.

  194.   - Phone support has been added for ALL users, registered or not.
  195.        I will not turn you away if you are not registered (I never
  196.        have though).  The only catch, is that I am not always
  197.        available, and the best time to catch me is in the evenings
  198.        on the days of Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday....You can
